I Am Thankful

"My journey has led me down many pathways, across numerous planes of consciousness, searching for an avenue of Truth. Fleeting moments of recognition in many confusing and frustrating experiences attempted to jog my 'memory.' But, not til 'now,' has the 'amnesia' faded and the "recollection" been so clearly brought into my conscious awareness" *

I searched 'high and low,' 'near and far' for meaning and purpose for many years. I believed that I had a mission. Yet, whenever I thought, "Maybe now! Maybe this is it!" there would be another obstacle in my road.  In 2017, I was to become the Appalachian Trail Chaplain. Finally! Finally, at age 71, I had a direction!! I would begin my 'mission' as the Appalachian Trail Chaplain. My Mission!!! But, once again, there was a roadblock! A major obstacle stood in my path, drastically altering my direction!

Instead of beginning a 2185-mile walk on the Appalachian Trail, I embarked on my journey with Breast Cancer. It was a journey I didn't understand, but somehow, I knew it would lead me down the path to find my Purpose. This time, it seemed that all the many roads I had walked, all the different avenues of life that went in so many diverse directions, now we're all coming together. It was as though a massive 'transportation system' was finally coming to completion! And the destination for each of the roads was the same!! They all led to the same place!! My Mission!

My Mission was becoming clear! In 2017, my Mission, Hiking for Healing, was born, and in 2019, it became Reality! During this time, my journey led me to you. And, in our play, on our hikes, I see Me as I looked into the depth of your eyes. Was the roadblock an ending or a cyclic climax with a new beginning? I see the Journey. I know the Purpose! And I see the Mission!

So, on this 2019 Thanksgiving Day, I am thankful for this journey! I am grateful for every trail and obstacle over which I so blindly tripped. And I am grateful to you for showing me, through your eyes, my purpose, my mission! I am thankful that, through your eyes, I found me.

Happy Thanksgiving!! And, to all, a good night! 💤💤
